Profile

Rosie Twinkie by SagaWolf

True Name: Rosie
    Goes by: Akahana
Age: 24, born in 1677, summer
Gender: Mare
Breed: Unicorn
Conformation: Saddlebred, Trakehner, Arabian
Coat Colour: Cremello
Horn and Hooves: Peridot
Height: 15Hh
Orientation: Pansexual, polyamorous.
Mate: None, but open to romance!

Herd Affiliation: Aodh Vagabond
Rank: Commoner Cadet
Patron God: Ignacio, Cascade, and Kaia
First Blessing: Healing Regeneration
Second Blessing: Fire Manipulation
Talent: Potion Master
Second Talent: Empath

Occupation: Just trying to survive alongside Ichiro and Ming
    - Healthcare advisor (private doctor) to King Amadeus.

Mother: Vivienne, Unicorn (Commoner - Alive)
Father: Theodore, Horse (Commoner - Alive)

Familiar: Chedva, an adult female lavender albino Ball Python. She is, as reptiles go, a rather easy-going and empathic creature, quick to detect changes in Rosie's mood. Rosie got her first and foremost for companionship and quickly discovered the wonders of snake massages. She uses Chedva as a therapy tool for herself and her clients and is a little surprised at how attached she's getting to the snake. (Commoner Reward)

Chedva is currently missing! Rosie hasn't seen her familiar since she was imprisoned by the Vindicators.

Trivia
  • She has grey locks of hair from the stress of all she's been through. Remains unaffected by her healing regeneration, and she's slowly beginning to love the grey, embracing it as a part of herself.

  • Collects jewelry like a magpie! Anything glittery and complementary to her own colors, you can bet she will try to buy it. Bracelets, circlets, necklaces, rings, Rosie has at least four jewelry boxes filled to the brim. It's not all high quality and not all precious metals. Indeed, some of her fondest pieces are made with animal bones and just a hint of sparkling stones.
Rosie has no more time for such silly sparkly things. Survival is top key and most of her valuables were 'donated' to the Vindicators anyway. She still loves the shinies. Maybe she will begin a new collection later!

  • She's fascinated with medical oddities (living and deceased) and will go to great lengths to get a personal viewing.

  • Rosie collects taxidermy in all its glory! Dry and wet specimens and she will not limit herself to just animals. She owns at least one equine skull, a stillborn pegasus in a jar (cause of death unknown, possibly heart failure) and a dried foreleg with sections removed to various depths, in order to display the construction. She happily adds to her morbid collection whenever possible, and will always make sure that the items are ethically sourced! A broad term in Aodh.
With her entire collection left behind in Aodh, Rosie hasn't found the time to begin collecting anew just yet.

Personality

SA | Rosie the Cutie Patootie by SagaWolf

Keen |
Friendly | Confident Strong-Willed Haughty | Hotheaded | Morbid |

Bullet; Green Keen
|Having eagerness or enthusiasm|
Rosie displays high levels of enthusiasm in regards to anything remotely relating to medicine or healing. This is her passion in life and she will go to great lengths to obtain knowledge. This eagerness bleeds into most aspects of her life, and she may come across as a sparkling, high-maintenance bundle of energy.

Bullet; Green Friendly
|Kind and pleasant|
Exceptionally friendly to all around her, this is perhaps Rosie's most prominent personality trait. She is bubbly and welcoming, eager to help where she can. She has a terribly hard time saying 'no' unless she's wrapped up in studies. Still, she is smart enough to recognize, in most cases, the attempt to take advantage of her kindness, and you can be certain she will remember.

Bullet; Green Confident
|Feeling and showing confidence in one's abilities|
This smart girl knows that she is smart. She also knows that she is a pretty little thing and she is not afraid to confirm. She may come across as arrogant at first, but it soon becomes obvious that she simply believes in herself and her skills and abilities. She knows her limits and works had to push past them to better herself.

Bullet; Yellow Strong-Willed
|Determined to do as one wants|
Also known as stubborn, pigheaded and mulish, Rosie finds it exceptionally hard to change her mind once it has been made up and to admit to fault. While this can be both a positive and a negative (she won't let anyone boss her around out of the blue but she's also blind to her own mistakes), it also makes her a hard worker and a diligent student.

Bullet; Red Haughty
|Arrogantly superior|
While Rosie isn't arrogant in-your-face, she does, however, flaunt her ability in moments of weakness. She believes herself to be smarter and more knowledgeable than most healers and telling her otherwise will earn you hard stares and sneers. She does know that she has so much more to learn, but she just can't help being better than... well... everyone else.

Bullet; Red Hotheaded
|An impetuous or quick-tempered nature|
Overall a pleasant and easy going girl, if you push the right buttons, Rosie's temper surfaces. She has spent years trying to gain control of a hot temper, but sometimes she just has to let the storm roll. Discussions can easily stray from civil paths and while she hardly ever engages in physical blows, her tongue can be sharp as a blade.

Bullet; Red Morbid
|Abnormal interest in unpleasant subjects, especially death and disease|
The one side that Rosie conceals to the best of her abilities, is her odd fascination with all that ails the equine form. She is drawn like a moth to a flame when it concerns diseases of both mind and body as well as the inevitable death. She wants to know what, why, and how, she hungers to understand everything about diseases and to conquer them. She takes precautions, of course, as she is drawn to study the sick, taking extensive notes. She wishes for nothing more than to inspect the equine body post-mortem, but has yet to have the chance. How wonderful it would be to peel back the layers of skin, muscle, and flesh and understand the exact mechanics of the body.

History

Pre-Group

Rosie came to the world from a long line of accredited doctors and healers. Well... on her fathers side of the family at least. Her mother, Vivienne, was a trophy wife. A young, beautiful air-headed thing with a heart as big as the world but not much between her ears. She adored her daughter from the moment she slipped into the world, new, fragile and a week too early, enough to cause the new mother concern. Rosie was, thankfully, born whole, healthy and even if she had been sickly, her father Theodore would undoubtedly have been there to assist.

The little girl grew up in relative peace and quiet with a father she rarely saw and a mother always by her side. Theodore was busy with his clinic or hidden away in his study, only mingling with his young wife and daughter for meals and in the early morning and late evening. Vivienne on the other hand rarely let her little gem out of her sight, worried all manner of terrible catastrophes would befall her little angel. For many years Rosie didn't mind. She was a terribly shy child, always hiding behind her mother and needing a healthy dose of encouragement to play with other youngsters. Once that was overcome she socialized often, as Vivienne had plenty of gossiping friends, mothers, and soon-to-be, all who needed visiting at least once a week. Life was good, easy and full of joy. The little family even employed a single servile slave, Clara, to keep their home pristine, cook meals and on occasion look after little Rosie while her parents went to more... adult social events.

By the time Rosie turned twelve, she was getting bored. Intelligent and quick to learn, she found her mother's idea of a good time, spas, shopping for jewelry and clothing and hanging out with her equally ditzy friends, to be exceptionally draining. She was much more interested in the workings of her father's elusive and secretive world. So after a good week of careful suggestions, battered eyelashes, and soft whining, he finally gave in and allowed her to tag along for a day.

It was meant to be only a day, to show her hard work and discourage her from wanting such. Instead, Rosie was instantly hooked, fascinated by her father's ability to heal everything from a sore throat to a fractured leg. Suddenly the world expanded before her eyes, became so much more than she could have ever imagined and she wanted to learn it all. Of course, Theodore said no and intended to keep it, but little Rosie had picked up fantastic lessons from her mother, and a quivering lip, some moisture to her already big eyes, and her father crumbled once more. He took her on as an apprentice, believing that she would fail (because it was a stallion's job and blah blah), but Rosie absorbed all his lessons with relative ease and had a hunger for knowledge that he just couldn't satisfy.

By her twenties she worked alongside her father, cataloging the small clinic's inventory and continuously absorb his wisdom. She made sure to still spend time with her mother and despite feeling a little left out, Vivienne wanted nothing more than her daughter's happiness. She could still wrap her daughter into a spa day or a shopping spree, and that was all Vivienne needed.

Rosie still craved independence from her parents and at the age of twenty-three, she found it in the form of an unusual job. Bones, advisor to the Emperor no less, sought domestic help that wasn't a slave. Unusual perhaps, but not anything the young healer-to-be would question. Bones' age and failing health meant everyday tasks were terribly draining, and while Rosie was eager to put all her knowledge to good use, she would be lying if she said she wasn't slightly compelled by the chance to work near royalty. So now she spends her days helping the old man, keeping his home tidy, bringing him honeyed tea for a sore throat and helping him with his leg braces. She's happy, content and continues to study medicine and healing in her spare time.

Group History

Chapter OneDidn't participate |

    Chapter Two:
- Rosie has, thanks to her job, a front row seat to the unveiling of the newest member of the Royal family. She's giddy with excitement, mostly because she gets to brush shoulders with Nobles, something she's dreamed of ever since she was a little filly. While she remains at Bones' side, too nervous to mingle, she still finds the whole experience amazing! And that's all before the kirin filly is revealed.
- Shocked and then delighted with the appearance of a legendary kirin, Rosie only has a few moments to condemn how Ember handled the situation, frightening child and mother before she is called on for her abilities. She does what she can for Lilith's burn wounds and offers her help to Callista as well, who tore open her knees.
- At the end of the tumultuous day, Rosie returns home and reflects on everything that has happened. A part of her still finds it impossible to believe what she saw, and it takes her a couple of days to really come to terms with the birth of a kirin.

    Chapter Three:
- What is supposed to be a calm day off work and spent window shopping, takes a dramatic turn when a kirin of all things, materializes in the middle of the Gilded Bridge. Once the shock settles, Rosie sees the pale pink Bonniebel as a divine gift from Ignacio himself, a walking miracle.
Rosie also takes note of Shiya and her odd alias but does not call the Noble out on it. It is something she will save for a private setting. Curiosity has been sparked!
- Sahkmet's behavior has Rosie take an immediate dislike to her, one that will be hard to change.
- As Bonnibel is escorted to a shop to wait for the guards that will take her to the palace, Rosie follows along, offering any help she can provide. She makes any excuse necessary to spend as much time in presence of the kirin as possible. She is star struck.

Shortly after Chapter Three:
- Rosie is employed by King Amadeus as his personal physician, after the retirement of Advisor Bones. She moves into the palace and is trying hard not to brag about this! Her spacious room is soon filled with books and somewhat cluttered. Rosie loves it!

Halfway between Chapter Three and Chapter Four:
- Rosie has a very unfortunate run-in with the Vindicator Mordecai and his little helper Falker. Mordecai brands Rosie as sick revenge for his past and the new slave brand law, which came to pass in Chapter Three. Mordecai has stolen the brand from a slave trader, and Rosie is lucky to have ties to the Palace, or she could have landed in even worse trouble. (Read the whole RP here: SA | Rosie | RP - The World is Full of Villainy)
- Rosie secludes herself as much as possible, falling into depression and anxiety. She's far from her usual happy and helpful self and begins hoarding outfits to hide her disgusting shoulder.
- She stops trusting strangers and to offer them help and becomes especially wary of stallions.

    Chapter Four: (Plot 410: Flight)
As the Boy King Amadeus is murdered, his personal doctor vanishes without a trace, taking her snake and several personal belongings with her. Awfully suspicious wouldn't you say so? If she has nothing to do with the ghastly act, surely she would have come forward rather than slip into shadows. The rumor mill is going strong, and Rosie's parents are left to deal with wild accusations. Her father's clinic sees a drop in patients as not many want to be associated with a family that might, or might not, have had a hoof in the King's death. Her mother, already a frail soul, takes to drinking excessively and the marriage suffers irreparable cracks.

A hefty reward has been promised for any who can help shed light on Rosie's disappearance, her location and/or her involvement in the King's murder.

:bulletgreen: Rosie fled alongside Amadeus and others, going into hiding in Breim, taking on a new look and identity. Just another Help, nothing suspicious at all. (Fake Breim App: SA | Akahana | the Help | Breim)

Chapter Five: (Breim Plot 502: Rumor)
Akahana, totally a full-blooded Breimian, struggles to understand why the palace, where she's employed, is suddenly so busy. No notice came her way, yet servants are rushing to and from in a hurry. Delicate fabrics, jewelry and a marvelous cake discovered in the kitchen, leads to the idea a party might be in the making! Indeed a wedding. How marvelous! It is a welcomed distraction to the stressed mare and for a few days, she forgets to constantly look over her shoulder for danger.

Chapter Six: (Vagabond 609: As Luck Would Have It)
Nothing good lasts forever, but Akahana didn't welcome the underground life after all. She joins Ming and Ichiro on their way to Skeldr Town, escorted by two Rangers. Curious. No stopping, no talking to strangers and Akahana is a bundle of stress.
A wounded stranger staggers out in front of the group, and the carefully laid travel plan vaporizes instantly. Ichiro, bless his bleeding heart, darts to the stranger to help, and is immediately taken, hostage. Other strangers appear out of the darkness, demanding the group's riches and food.
Terrified that Ichiro's true identity will be detected, or his life taken away, Akahana drops her false Breim accent, returning to her Aodhian roots, proclaiming to be noble.
When Frannie is hurt the whole situation seems to dissolve into chaos, and Amadeus is recognized by his captors.
Rosie refuses to leave 'Ichiro' and 'Ming'.

:new:    Chapter Seven: (Vagabond 703: The Great Divide)
Captured by the Vindicators, stripped of valuables and with her familiar having slithered off to Gods know where Rosie does her best to keep her companions' spirits high.
When Amadeus is taken from the cell and Vindicator tempers grow heated, Rosie can do nothing but beg for compassion and mercy. She is both shocked and relieved when Ammy is pressed into joining the 'gang', finding herself and Ming/Frannie quickly joining as well. Anything to keep the three together. Besides, some of those words struck deep within Rosie, making her question the brilliance of her birth herd and opening her eyes to the cruelty and unnecessity of slavery.
